Benefits of the Winners
The winners of World War 1 were the allied powers, which were France, England, Italy, and the U.S over the Central Powers which were Germany, Austria-Hungary, and the Ottoman Empire, the losing side. The winners did not treat the losers fairly as in the Treaty of Versailles, Germany was charged billions of dollars which launched their economy into ruins. Austria-Hungary broke apart and split into Austria and Hungary. The Ottoman Empire's land was taken by France and Britain which was a benefit to them (the winners). One of the greatest benefit of the U.S being the winners was prestige. As a result of World War One, there was no longer any doubt that the U.S was a world power, which would make the world have to turn to America for guidance and purpose. The nations seeking America as an ally would be benefited and the nations that would alienate America would suffer.
This map shows the contrast between the fixed boundary between the Allies and the Central Powers.
